As of 6 a.m. Thursday, Hydro Ottawa reported some 2,700 customers still without power. They are scattered around many parts of the city but the majority are in Bay and Kitchissippi wards.

Estimated times of when they will have power again range from morning until 7:30 p.m.

Hydro Ottawa says crews have been working through the night but were hampered by difficult access in the blackout as they tried to work through back yards and tree branches to reconnect lines in the darkness.

Even in blacked out areas, most of the west-end traffic lights that were out during Wednesday evening’s rush hour are now working.
