Ottawa firefighters were called to tackle a car fully engulfed in flames, creating a towering column of black smoke over March Road Monday morning.
They were called to the scene north of Bearhill Road just before 10 a.m.
The driver called 911 after smoke started coming out of the dashboard as he drove home with a passenger. He pulled over and they were able to get out safely.
The fire was out by 10:22 a.m. and firefighters handed the scene over to police for traffic control as the wreckage was towed away.
