Ottawa police have obtained a warrant for the arrest of a 48-year-old Ottawa man who is accused of ordering baked goods and other items, asking they be stuffed with cash, then paying for the orders with stolen credit cards.

According to police, the man may have defrauded as many as 12 businesses in the area since August.

Police allege that Faucher targets small businesses that accept over-the-phone credit card orders.

As part of the fraud, he asks that currency be placed inside the item ordered as a special treat, such as an envelope of cash with an order of flowers, or currency to be “baked” into goods such as cakes ordered as gifts.

Police are looking for Jody Faucher, described as Caucasian, standing around five feet 10 inches (178 cm), weighing about 161 pounds (73 kg) with a m edium build. Police say his complexion is strongly marked by acne.

This isn’t the first time that Ottawa police have gone looking for Faucher. Police released a similar call for help from the public in May 2015 to help find the man in connection with similar incidents.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Faucher is asked to call 613-236-1222, ext. 5433. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
