A horse was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Stagecoach Road, east of Kemptville on Thursday afternoon.
An Ottawa Fire Services spokeswoman said no one was riding the horse, and the driver of the vehicle wasn’t hurt.

Ottawa fire headquarters didn’t immediately have information about how the horse got onto the road. There were several horses at the scene but the others were not hit.
Police were asking motorists to stay away from the area of Stagecoach Road and Snake Island Road.
