The rain outlook for the capital is looking grimmer.
Environment Canada Saturday issued an official rainfall warning for Ottawa and area, saying a low-pressure system from the U.S. could bring 50 to 100 mm of rainfall by Sunday night.
“The rain will become quite heavy at times Sunday night as a strong low pressure area from the Atlantic crosses New England Sunday then goes into Southern Quebec by Monday morning,” the agency warned.
“Total rainfall amounts of 50 to 100 mm are expected by Monday morning as a result.”
Localized flooding in low-lying areas is also a possibility.
The system is expected to bring strong, gusting westerly winds.
