It’s wet and wild out there, folks.

Environment Canada’s rainfall warning was still in effect Monday morning and the deluge isn’t expected to stop until afternoon when 20 mm of rain will have fallen in a storm that’s already made 2017 the wettest year on record. Northwest winds could hit gusts of up to 80 km/h.

Nearly 3,000 people are without power in the Dunrobin and Kinburn areas, according to Hydro One’s outtage map. There are smaller outages, Altavista, Capital, Beacon Hill-Cyrville and Koxdale-Merivale wards.

And just to make it even more miserable, the temperature is dropping.

City police are warning motorists to watch for no-doubt drenched pedestrians and cyclists.

And avoid areas of flooding that have shut down roadways including Island Park Drive under the 417 overpass, where there’s reportedly two feet – TWO FEET – of water and Halifax Drive is flooded from Dakota Avenue to Walkley Road.

In Gatineau, Boulevard St-Rene is closed from Boulevard Lorrain to Boulevard Labrosse while Maloney Boulevard is closed both ways between Labrosse and Filiatrault.

There’s so much water in a Gatineau mobile home park that all traffic is closed and “citizens are confined to their homes,” police said.

ALSO: A flipped transport truck is causing traffic nightmares in Gatineau

Meanwhile, the traffic lights are out on Woodroffe Avenue near the Nepean Sportsplex and at Terry Fox Drive and Hazeldean Road. There are a string of collisions, including one that blocked two lanes on Hwy. 417 westbound approaching Metcalfe Street.
