It had to happen, but it’s still a little depressing to hear winter knocking at the door.
Make that possibly banging on the door.
For Wednesday, expect clouds with some sun peeking out near noon, a high of 6 C and a low of -3 C overnight.
But then things are forecast to head south and not in a good way.
Thursday’s forecast is for increasing cloudiness, showers beginning in the afternoon and a high of 7 C and a low of -13 C.
Environment Canada is predicting the mercury will drop into the subzero double-digits overnight Thursday with a risk of flurries Saturday night.
For Friday, the forecast high is just -8 C with a mix of sun and cloud and a low of -12 C.
Saturday is expected to be sunny and -3 C by day then cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of flurries and -6 C by night.
The forecast for Sunday is clouds and a 40 per cent chance of flurries or rain showers with a high of 3 C and low of -3 C.
Rolf Campbell, who tweets as @YOW_Weather says it might be a record snowfall — this after a string of rain records have been washed away in 2017.
