A house in Carp was left a charred ruin overnight but the lone occupant managed to escape safely.
Ottawa Fire Services reports that they got a 911 call reporting a fully-involved fire at 408 Donald B Munro Dr.
They confirmed a working fire at 1:19 a.m. while still on the way to the house, which is just east of Carp Road.
They fought the fire in “defensive mode” in a bid to keep the flames from spreading, had it under control at 2:12 a.m.
One person was helped by victim services but no one was hurt.
A fire investigator was on scene to determine the cause and assess the damage.
