Southbound motorists take caution: Environment Canada issued a weather advisory Friday, warning of tricky winter conditions along Highway 401 from east of Kingston to Picton.
Motorists braving the highway for visits through these areas Friday should be wary of periods of heavy snowfall and significantly reduced visibility due to blowing snow.
Up to 10 cm of snow is expected across that region by early this evening.
“Travel is expected to be hazardous at times today due to reduced visibility in blowing snow and accumulating snow,” Environment Canada cautioned.
Thankfully for motorists, a snow squall watch in the area recently ended.
