Ottawa firefighters are currently battling a massive church fire on Slack Road.
Living Waters Christian Assembly’s main church was fully engulfed in flames late Thursday afternoon.
Fire crews have adopted a defensive attack against the advanced fire and aren’t trying to enter the church because it’s too dangerous, said Ottawa fire spokeswoman Danielle Cardinal.
There are two additional buildings — small sheds — on the property that are now being protected from the blaze, Cardinal said.
Fire crews arrived on scene and saw no cars in the parking lot, Cardinal said, there are also no reported injuries.
Commuters are asked to avoid the area as crews continue their efforts.
