People who might have had any lingering worries that we wouldn’t see a white Christmas this year, can pretty much banish those thoughts.

Starting Friday, it looks like there’ll be a little addition to the accumulation every day between now and Boxing Day, and probably beyond.

Nothing stormy, mind you. Just steady.

The forecast for Friday is periods of light snow or flurries throughout the day, with an accumulation of four to six cm.

Gusty winds will make the high of -11 C feel much colder, so bundle up.

Periods of light snow are expected to continue Saturday, with a couple of centimetres accumulation. The high is expected to be a toasty -6 C, before the thermometer swoons to -12 C Saturday night.

Christmas Eve Day will see a mixture of sun and cloud and a high of -8 C, but sure enough the afternoon and evening show a 30 per cent chance of flurries and a low of -14 C.

And Christmas is expected to dawn cloudy, with a 40-50 per cent chance of flurries all day. The high should be -9C and the low -20 C.

Boxing Day is another mix of sun and cloud with a 30 percent chance of flurries and a high of only -14 C. The low is expected to be a chilly -22 C.
