As road conditions in the region worsened Friday evening, Ontario Provincial Police announced yet another collision on the same stretch of Highway 7 where they were investigating a fatal crash.
Lanark County OPP continued to investigate at Highway 7 near Tatlock Road, where a Ministry of Transportation vehicle, on scene as part of an investigation into a fatal collision that occurred Friday afternoon, was struck by a motorist. A ministry employee who was assisting at the first scene was seriously injured in the second crash and taken to hospital.
Highway 7 remained closed late Friday evening as a result of both collisions.
The first collision occurred earlier Friday when a transport truck and a pickup truck collided. One male was confirmed dead. Police have not released that person’s identity.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area. Police are detouring any vehicles at Townline Road in Carleton Place and Tatlock Road west of the scene, but urged drivers to find alternate routes.
