No need to rush around today, right?
You finished your holiday shopping days or even weeks ago – just like you planned – right?
Well, if someone has saddled you with unforeseen chores today, you might want to get them done early.
Environment Canada is calling for 5-10 cm of snow, with the bulk of it to fall later in the day.
The snow isn’t bringing complete relief from this cold snap but today’s high of -6 C is looking downright balmy compared to what’s coming later next week.
Tonight’s low should be near -11 C.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day have similar forecasts, in the -7 C to -8 C range – with lows near -12 C.
If you’re planning any long drives, Sunday will get more sun, and would be a better choice than this afternoon.
Monday could also see a few flurries.
After that, well, that’s when the real cold settles in.
Numbers like -25 C will start to get thrown around but let’s not think about that today.
Instead, enjoy your Saturday and this relatively mild weather.
