A frostbite advisory is in effect with a morning low on Wednesday of -24 C. It’s not getting much warmer with a forecast high of just -17 C that will feel more like -33. And the cold, cold snap is supposed to last into the weekend.

Wednesday is mainly sunny with northwest winds at 20 km/h dropping off by evening, a low of -29 C and overnight windchill of -37.

Mostly sunshine is forecast for Thursday with a high of -18 C and low of -26 C.

Friday is supposed to be sunny and -20 C with a 30 per cent chance of overnight snow and a low of -25 C.

For Saturday, there’s a 30 per cent chance of snow, a high of -19 under mixed skies and a low of -25 C.

Sunday – New Year’s Eve – is sunny with a high of -17 C and low of -24 C.

More sunshine is predicted to start 2018 with a high of -17 C and low of -23 C forecast for Monday.

Tuesday is sunny and -15 C.
