Ottawa is finally coming out of the deep freeze.

There’s nary a special weather statement or frostbite warning in sight and watch for above-zero temperatures by the weekend.

Tuesday’s forecast is for a high of -12 C and periods of light snow totaling 2 cm, a 40 per cent chance of evening flurries and a low of -15 C.

Looking good!

First impressions of Ottawa: it is really friggin’ cold here and everyone is wearing a ski mask… however, there is a dedicated scone shop and I am contemplating setting out in search of something unassumingly called a “butter tart.”
