An Ottawa man who offered online tutoring has been charged with aggravated sexual assault and sexual exploitation of 17-year-old male victim.
Police say the accused advertised his tutoring skills online and then arranged a face-to-face meeting with the teenager. The alleged assaults began last summer.
Ziauddin Yousafzai, 25, appeared in court on Dec. 23 on charges of aggravated sexual assault, sexual exploitation, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and criminal harassment.
Police believe there may be other victims and have asked anyone with information to contact the sexual assault and child abuse section at 613-236-1222, ext. 5944. Tips can also be submitted anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers, toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or downloading the Ottawa police app.
