Tia Mirna Rabaa was crowned the New Year’s Baby of 2018 when she arrived shortly after midnight at Ottawa’s Queensway Carleton Hospital.
The baby girl was born at 12:24 a.m. to mother Mirna Aloula and father Anthony Rabaa. She weighed 3.415 kilograms. She has three siblings.
Tom Schonberg, the hospital’s president and CEO, announced the good news in a statement Monday.
“The first baby of a new year is always exciting. It reminds us of the hope we have for our community and the potential inside each and every one of us.
“We wish the family much health and happiness.”
