Unwind the scarf and unzip the parka for now.

Wednesday is a positively balmy (if snowy) -7 C but it’s back in the deep freeze by Friday.

For Wednesday, periods of snow begin in the morning and will add up to two cm by evening when the mercury dips to -13 C.

Periods of light snow are forecast for Thursday with northwest winds at 20 km/h gusting to 40 in the afternoon and a high of -9 C. There’s a 60 per cent chance of flurries overnight as the low dips to -19 C.

Friday is cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of flurries and a high of just -18 C dropping to -26 C overnight.

For Saturday, expect sunshine and -19 C with a low of -23 C.

Milder temperatures return Sunday with a forecast high – and low – of -11 C with a 40 per cent chance of daytime flurries rising to 60 per cent overnight.

Monday is cloudy with a 70 per cent chance of snow and a high of -4 C. There’s a 60 per cent chance of overnight flurries and a low of -7 C.
