Ottawa firefighters were kept busy with two residential fires overnight in Carp.
Firefighters were called to 1174 Burnt Lands Road at 11:25 Saturday night. When they arrived flames were visible on the roof of the single family bungalow.
All six occupants were safely out of the house.
Due to the extreme cold OC Transpo was on site to provide shelter for the firefighters.
Six people were displaced. Estimated damages to the house is $500,000.
Firefighters were then called to 3850 Carp Road at approximately 2:40 Sunday morning.
With quick work from the firefighters, the fire was extinguished immediately and contained to the attic.
There were no injuries and the family of six will be staying with friends.
The fire inspector has been called, no other information his available at this time.
