City police say that they were called in at about 7 a.m. Tuesday to investigate graffiti discovered at an Old Richmond Road mosque.
An Ottawa Police spokesman could not immediately describe the graffiti which was left on the mosque near the intersection of Seyton Drive, near the spot where 17-year-old Nick Hickey was struck and killed two weeks ago.
A week later, shots were fired a lock away.
The incident follows a weekend of national memorials commemorating the one-year anniversary of the Quebec City mosque shooting where six men were killed, andmore than a dozen wounded by a lone gunman.
Mosque officials were not available for comment early Tuesday.
