Ottawa paramedics helped revive a 12-year-old swimmer who went into cardiac arrest Wednesday at the Carleton University pool.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to an emergency call at 7 p.m. at the university and arrived to find lifeguards conducting CPR after applying a defibrillator. The paramedics deployed intravenous adrenalin — an advanced life support measure — and the young swimmer’s heart rhythm was restored.
It’s not clear what caused the cardiac arrest.
