Roger Montpetit Park - (Ward 1 – Orléans)
In recognition of the historical significance of Roger Montpetit to the Orléans community, a proposal to name the future park located at 850 Champlain Street has been submitted to the Commemorative Naming Committee. Roger Montpetit ran his family’s general store for many years, employing all twelve of his children and expanding the business, to create a local hub for residents to do their shopping and socialize. For 50 years, the Montpetit general store was owned and operated by three generations of the Montpeitt family, and the building still exists to this day.
