A six-year-old girl was in critical condition in Gatineau Hospital on Monday night after a pickup truck ran over her late Monday afternoon.
Emergency workers were called to the scene at about 4:15 p.m. Monday in response to calls that a pickup truck that was turning at the corner of rue Gouin and rue Migneault had struck and run over a girl.
Paramedics resuscitated the child before taking her to hospital in critical condition, said Lt. Eric Simard of the Gatineau police.
Police have interviewed two witnesses and the driver of the pickup truck. The driver has been released, but the investigation continues. The girl’s name has not been released.
