Ottawa firefighters were forced to use the Jaws of Life to remove the door of a car after a collision on Jeanne D’Arc Boulevard South near Sapinier Street Tuesday afternoon.
According to emergency officials, three vehicles were involved in the collision around 1:50 p.m. The impact caused the airbags in the cars to deploy and injured a total of four people.
It took crews close to 20 minutes to remove the door of a car where one of the people was trapped.
All people involved in the crash were being treated for minor injuries.
Police were investigating the collision, and said the southbound lanes of Jeanne D’Arc Boulevard were experiencing heavier than normal traffic volumes as a result. They advised people travelling through the area on Tuesday afternoon to find alternate routes.
