Firefighters in Gatineau were called to an early morning blaze at 660 Boul. Cite´-des-Jeunes at around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday to find heavy smoke coming from a condominium complex.
Ten residents at home in the 11-unit, three-storey building were evacuated.
A total of 17 firefighters working with pumper trucks to get the blaze under control by 9:30 a.m.
There was one minor injury.
Damages are estimated at $50,000. A faulty air exchanger is believed to have caused the fire, according to preliminary results of an investigation into the cause of the blaze.
