Alexander H. Stephens (born Alexander Hamilton Stephens; February 11, 1812 – March 4, 1883) was an American politician who served as the Vice Presidentof the Confederate States of America during the American Civil War. A member of the Democratic Party, Stephens also served in the United States House of Representatives and as the 50th Governor of Georgia.
