Police are reminding people to drive carefully during snowfall after a pair of collisions in Ottawa Tuesday morning.
The first crash happened between two small cars and an SUV on Mitch Owens and Boundary roads in the south end of the city. Police were advising drivers to avoid the area while they removed the vehicles from a ditch. All drivers were treated by paramedics and released on the scene.
At 9:17 a.m. in the city’s east end, another crash happened, this time between two cars on Portobello Boulevard and Valin Street.
Ottawa Fire Services said no motorists were trapped. The drivers were reportedly safe and only suffered minor injuries, and no one was sent to hospital.
Environment Canada forecasted around a total 10 cm of snow all day Tuesday, with wind and a high of 0 C.
Thank you for having your full lights on in this snow. However they are not much good when covered in snow. Take 2 minutes to clear your vehicle. It could save a life and save you a fine.
