A 55-year-old Ottawa man is facing child pornography charges after several images and videos were discovered on his computer, police said.
In early November, the Ottawa police internet child exploitation unit (ICE) conducted an investigation on a “Peer to Peer (P2P) network,” a commonly used network that allows users to share files, including images and videos of child pornography.
An investigator identified an IP address located in the Ottawa area sharing thousands of files of suspected child pornography. A search warrant was subsequently executed on Wednesday in the Golden Triangle area. Digital devices were examined that revealed an extensive collection of images and videos of child pornography, police said.
Michael Petrusic is charged with two counts of making child pornography available and three counts of possession of child pornography.
He will appear at show cause court on Thursday.
