Mayor Jim Watson will host members of Ottawa’s Francophone community at a breakfast on Friday, March 23, at City Hall for the 12th Annual Francophone Rendezvous with the Mayor.

The breakfast will celebrate the Francophone Scouting movement and its positive impact on youth in Ottawa. 2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the first French-speaking Scout troop in Canada, founded right here in Ottawa.

Within the « District des Trois-Rives de l’Association des Scouts du Canada », there are five Francophone Scout troops here in Ottawa:

  • Le Groupe 43e Franco-Ouest
  • Le Groupe 31e Saint-Joseph (Orléans)
  • Le Groupe 23e Marie-Médiatrice (Vanier)
  • Le Groupe 55e Sainte-Marie (Orléans)
  • Le Groupe 62e Phare Est (Cyrville)

Date: Friday March 23
Time: 7:30 to 9 a.m.
Location: Jean Pigott Place and Council Chambers, Ottawa City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue West
