Ottawa Fire Services extinguished a kitchen fire in Ottawa’s east end Wednesday evening.
Just before 5 p.m., the fire department responded to multiple 911 calls about smoke coming from Unit A at 718 Carsons Rd., near the Aviation Parkway. The fire was contained to the kitchen and extinguished quickly.
Five residents of the unit, including an infant, were displaced and were seeking shelter with relatives. They declined assistance from victim services.
One occupant was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and released.
There will be no investigation of the fire.
