One man suffered mild smoke inhalation in one of two early morning fires Saturday.
Ottawa firefighters were called to the scene at 321 Shakespeare St., near Ste. Anne Avenue, in Vanier at about 5:30 a.m.
The fire was contained to one unit in the multi-unit structure and firefighters were able to control the blaze quickly.
A resident was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
A fire investigator is at the scene.
Firefighters at a fire in a vacant home on Highfield Crescent in the west end saturday.
Meanwhile, there were no injuries in a smoky fire at a vacant home at 2918 Highfield Cres. near Richmond Road in the west end.
