A woman lost her home but everyone was able to safely escape an early-morning fire at a Centretown West building.

Fire crews were alerted at 3:24 a.m. Wednesday by several 911 calls reporting flames on the roof of 240 Bell St. N.

They were on the scene minutes later and immediately called a second alarm to draw more firefighters and equipment to the two-storey building which housed two apartment units.

A fire investigator had been dispatched to the scene to determine the cause.
