All runners got through Day 1 of the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend safely, the Ottawa Paramedic Service tweeted on Saturday night.

The two-, five- and 10-kilometre events were held Saturday, and that night at 10 the paramedics reported that they had responded to just six on-course calls, all during the 10K run.

Three patients were moved to The Ottawa Hospital field hospital, with two of those, along with another patient, taken to a local emergency. All were in stable condition and none of the incidents was “significant or life threatening,” paramedics said.

Race weekend continues on Sunday with the half-marathon and the marathon.
