It’s no record-breaker but get ready for the summer of 2018’s first scorcher.
If the mercury on Wednesday reaches the forecast of 30 C it will be the hottest day since last September. And it will feel even hotter with a Humidex of 36 and a UV index of 9 or very high. The overnight low will only reach 19 C.
A typical high for the end of May is 22 C but Environment Canada’s record high for May 30 was 33.2 C in 2016.
Mainly-cloudy skies return in Thursday’s forecast with a 40 per cent chance of afternoon showers, southerly winds at 20 km/h and a high of 26 C that will feel like 33. There’s a 30 per cent chance of more showers overnight and a low of 20 C.
Friday is cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers both day and night, a high of 25 C and a low of 18 C.
Saturday is cloudy again with a 40 per cent chance of showers and high of 23 C during the day and 30 per cent chance of showers and low of 13 C overnight.
For Sunday, expect a mix of sun and cloud, a high of 22 C and a low of 13 C.
Mixed skies are in Monday’s forecast, too, with a high of 24 C and low of 12 C.
Sunny skies return Tuesday with a spot-on seasonal high of 22 C.
With a forecast high of 30°C, tomorrow could be #Ottawa's hottest day since Sep 27th. #OttWx
