Police have charged the owner-operator of a retirement home near Prescott with an additional count of sexual assault, bringing the number of alleged victims in the ongoing investigation to three.

Last Friday, the OPP announced that Robert Lunnie, 72, of Augusta Township, had been charged with four counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual exploitation against two alleged victims, including a resident of the home.

According to the Prescott detachment of the OPP and the Grenville County crime unit, these alleged assaults occurred on the Green Acres retirement home property, located on McCrea Road, about 90 kilometres south of Ottawa.

The third alleged victim was not a resident of the retirement home, nor did the alleged assault occur on the property, Const. Suzanne Runciman said Thursday.

Green Acres is not licensed under the Retirement Homes Act, the Retirement Home Regulatory Authority confirmed Friday.

The home has declined repeated requests for comment.

Lunnie is being held for bail court. He is scheduled to appear in Brockville court June 6.

Police identified the third alleged victim through a news release, which encouraged anyone with additional information to contact the Prescott OPP detachment at 613-925-4221 or call toll-free at 1-888-310-1122. They’ve repeated this request.
