The coroner’s office has scheduled a three-day inquest into the death of a highway construction worker more than two years ago.

Danniel William Milton, 42, was working on a highway project in Renfrew County in April 2016 when he was hit by a vehicle. Under the Coroners Act, an inquest is mandatory.

Beginning Sept. 17, a jury will hear the circumstances of his death in Renfrew, and will be able to make recommendations to prevent similar incidents in the future. It is expected to hear from about nine witnesses.

Dr. Robert Reddoch will preside as the inquest coroner.
