Firefighters from Ottawa and Gatineau rescued some stranded boaters Sunday morning near Crystal Bay after the vessel they were on broke down.
Ottawa Fire Services received a 911 call at around 9:15 a.m. about a boat in distress. Smoke was reportedly coming from the boat and the occupants were waving a red flag.
Firefighters launched boats to investigate and soon discovered there was no fire on board, but the boat had broken down. Crews assisted the boaters to safety. There were no injuries reported.
