A man in his 20s is in critical condition after a bulldozer ran over the lower half of his body at a Queensway construction site on Monday morning.
Ottawa paramedics responded to the scene at a construction site near Maitland Avenue and Highway 417 shortly after 10:30 a.m. The man was working on the expansion of the Queensway.
“He’s conscious, but he’s still in critical condition at the trauma centre,” said paramedic spokesman Marc-Antoine Deschamps. “We’ll have to see how damaged or injured he is, but the fact that he’s conscious and made it to the hospital” is good news, said Deschamps.
It was not immediately apparent why the man was run over by the bulldozer.
The Ministry of Labour had not commented as of noon Monday.
