Fire crews fought flames at an Orléans residential complex into the night Sunday then again Monday morning when the fire rekindled.

Four units were affected by the fire and nine people displaced with the Red Cross and Salvation Army on hand to help them.

An investigator is on the scene working with the Electrical Safety Authority to determine an ignition source.

The fire service got multiple 911 calls at 11:05 p.m. Sunday reporting flames at 46 Lakepointe Drive and called a second alarm fire soon after arriving at the multi-residential building near the intersection of Innes and 10th Line roads.

The fire was under control at 11:51 p.m. and loss stopped at 12:59 a.m. Monday but as crews continuing overhaul and salvage operations they noticed fresh smoke at about 5 a.m.

Damage is pegged at $400,000.
