Police closed the entirety of Route 309 in Outaouais on Monday night after a collision between a truck and a car sent four passengers to hospital with injuries, some serious.
Just before 6 p.m. MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais police reported a major incident that saw a Ford F-150 truck collide head-on with a small car. Some people had to be extricated from the wreckage, police said, and all four were taken to the Hull Hospital for treatment.
Police said they were unable to describe the exact nature of the injuries at the time, but that some were significant.
They said that a driver would have to provide a blood-alcohol sample in the wake of the crash.
Route 309 was completely closed as of 5:51 p.m., and police directed motorists to a detour set up by the Transportation Ministry. According to Quebec 511, shortly before 10 p.m., Route 309 was closed in both directions between Chemin Thomas Sud and Chemin de Derry.
