Answer to Security Clearance

If you are talking about the Security Clearnce for a government job, I will know the answer. I am working for the government and am sponsoring candidates.

In theory, the processing time for "Enhanced" is only ONE day. If you consider all the paper work, it may take one to two weeks. The "Secret" may be longer, depends on individual, normally three months. You do not need to be a Canadian citizen to get these clearances.

Security is the last thing to the hiring process. Do not be obsessed about it. If you get hired, the hiring party will sponsor you. It is not difficult to get.

Yes, I just need Enhanced Security Clearance, what will they check, say my criminal record, credit history, or my prvious employment history, or even my tax return???

I applied National Defence. The security clearance looks back for five yrs, and take about 3 weeks to finish all the checking process.
