On Tuesday, February 19, Mayor Jim Watson will be joined by 40 local exhibitors to recognize Heritage Day and present the Heritage Day Proclamation to The Workers’ History Museum
The Workers’ History Museum is a not-for-profit corporation based in the National Capital Region. Founded in 2011, the museum is dedicated to the development and preservation of workers’ history and heritage in the National Capital Region and Ottawa Valley. Their goal is to present, promote, interpret, and preserve workers’ history, heritage, and culture. More information can be found on the Workers’ History Museum website.
This year’s theme, “Heritage: The Tie that Binds,” celebrates the City’s past and future and how it unites us all. It is a chance to recognize the contributions of the many dedicated volunteers who promote heritage conservation and public education about the city’s history.
Date: Tuesday, February 19
Time: 11:30 am to 2 pm
Location: Jean Pigott Place, Ottawa City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue West
Heritage Day in Ottawa is an annual event that encourages residents to explore their local heritage, to get involved with stewardship and advocacy groups, and to visit museums, archives, and places of architectural significance.
