请问一下朋友的父母国内有工资，申请老人楼会不会比较贵？老人楼每月租金怎样计算法？还没有拿加国养老金。

Eligibility

To be eligible for subsidized housing, you must meet all of the following conditions:
All members of the household must be a Canadian citizen, Landed Immigrant, Refugee or Refugee Claimant
No member of the household is currently under a deportation, departure or exclusion order to leave Canada
At least 1 person in your household must be 16 years of age and older
No member of the household owes money to any social housing provider
No member of the household has been convicted of an offence in relation to rent-geared-to-income assistance or found by a court of law or the Landlord and Tenant Board to have misrepresented their income for the purpose of rent-geared-to-income assistance
If you own a house, you must agree to sell it within 180 days of being housed
You must be able to live independently, and make your own arrangements for support services

How long will I have to wait?

When you apply, you can choose one, some or all housing providers that you qualify for. The length of time depends on how flexible you are about where you want to live and the type of housing you want.

The time on the waiting list varies but can be 5 years or more.

After you have filled in your application, you will be placed on the waiting lists of the providers you have chosen. When these providers have a vacancy in one of their communities, they will look at their waiting list and contact the household that has the earliest date of application.

Some households may qualify for a priority that may allow them to be housed sooner

How much will my rent be?

If you have applied for rent-geared-to-income housing, your rent will be approximately 30% of the household’s combined gross monthly income.

Depending on circumstances, there may be additional costs such as utilities and parking.
