虽然一个例子不能说明问题,但是,我相信例子蛮多的。比如,我们召coop学生,并没有召"特优"的,而选择一个从中学开始就去锯木厂"精精业业"的年轻人。

[Drive-thru Breakthrough]

| If you had 15 seconds at Tim Horton’s Coffee drive-thru, how might you use it? Let me introduce, Hafez Issa, a bright young Software and Biomedical Engineering student at McMaster University. He worked drive-thru on several of my weekend morning coffee runs in the past few months. On our first 15 second coffee transaction, he said, “You look familiar, I’ve seen you somewhere”—but we ran out of time. The second time I drove up, he smiled “you work at McMaster, right? I saw an article about you on the website?”. This time, I said, “yes, that’s me?”—“Do you study at McMaster?” I asked , but we ran out of time. The third time, I drove-thru, I learned he was interested in “machine learning and big data” and told him I am keenly interested in ‘data analytics”. Long story made short—we just hired Hafez as a part time student analyst with our research team. I never doubt the power of ‘moments’ and admire Hafez for highly efficient use of time. After we offered him a paid position, he wrote me “right place at the right time- but I never thought this would apply to me, at least not at this stage of my life”. On the contrary, the winner in this transaction is me, not him. I wonder if I owe Tim Hortons a recruiter fee?

I admire such kind of young fellows and decent professors.

不打工也有好处。

让小孩打工主要是增加接触社会和与人打交道的经验,没啥不好的

It's great to have different opinions, which is very much needed for parents.
