COVID-19: Ottawa reports 20 new cases; Ontario reports 411
With 411 new cases of COVID-19 reported Wednesday, Ontario’s daily case count continues to dwindle as vaccine-induced immunity climbs.
Wednesday’s total includes 97 new cases in Toronto, 72 in Peel, and 35 in Waterloo, according to Public Health Ontario reporting.
Ottawa Public Health reported Wednesday that the region recorded
20 new cases of COVID-19 in the previous day, though anyone looking at its data dashboard would see
-1 new cases.
The government said seven million doses of Moderna vaccine are slated to arrive this month, with initial shipments starting next week.
Procurement Minister Anita Anand said it will be the first time the deliveries will include doses from the company’s American supply chain. Details of specific shipment dates and quantities will come next week, she said.
