Special Advance Vote Days will take place from Saturday, September 24 to Tuesday, September 27, from 10 am to 8 pm.

During Special Advance Vote Days, eligible electors can vote at any of the following nine voting places, regardless of your address:

  • François Dupuis Recreation Centre, 2263 Portobello Blvd
  • St-Laurent Complex, 525 Côté St
  • City Hall, 110 Laurier Ave W
  • Greenboro Community Centre, 363 Lorry Greenberg Dr
  • Minto Recreation Complex – Barrhaven, 3500 Cambrian Rd
  • Nepean Sportsplex, 1701 Woodroffe Ave
  • Michele Heights Community Centre, 2955 Michèle Dr
  • Richcraft Recreation Complex – Kanata, 4101 Innovation Dr
  • CARDELREC Recreation Complex Goulbourn, 1500 Shea Rd

You can bring your voter notification letter with you to the voting place to expedite the voting process; however, it is not required to vote.

If you did not receive a voter notification letter, you can verify your information on the Voters’ List using the “Am I on the Voters’ List?” tool on ottawa.ca/vote. If your name does not appear on the Voters’ List, or if you would like to amend your information, you can do so at your voting place on voting days. Applications to “Add or Amend my Information on the Voters’ List” will be available at every voting place and are easy to fill out on-site.

All electors will be required to present a piece of identification in order to receive a ballot at their voting place. The identification must show your name and qualifying Ottawa address. Photo identification is not required. If you cannot present an acceptable proof of identity and residence, you can make a statutory declaration prior to being issued a ballot.

NEW – “Voters in Training” event

New for the 2022 Municipal Elections, the Elections Office is piloting a “Voters in Training” event to educate and engage future voters in the City of Ottawa. This event will occur during Special Advance Vote Days only.

Kids of all ages can come to any of the nine Special Advance Vote locations and cast their own Voters in Training ballot. For more information on the Voters in Training event, visit ottawa.ca/vote.

Additional in-person voting opportunities

Electors who do not vote during Special Advance Vote Days will have three other in-person opportunities to vote. Advance Vote Days will also take place on Friday, October 7 and Friday, October 14. Voting Day is Monday, October 24. On these days, electors can vote at their assigned voting place. Voting places are open from 10 am to 8 pm with the exception of long-term care centres and retirement homes which may have reduced hours. Electors can verify when and where they can vote on their voter notification letter or by using the Where Do I Vote? Tool on ottawa.ca/vote.

Electors who are unable to make it to a voting place on voting days can appoint a proxy to vote on their behalf. To learn more about appointing a proxy, visit ottawa.ca/vote.

All voting places are fully accessible. Visit ottawa.ca/vote or email elections@ottawa.ca for information about the accessibility tools available to electors at voting places.
