Do not trust the search
I believe the only record you might trust is the used car info package from ontario ministry of transportation.If the car has been in Quebec for certain time, I do not know how you might get info.
I have a friend who spend some money (around 25 US for 30 days) and can check the car by VIN. The information from VIN check is very confusing because every liscence plate renewal is treated as one new owner. In the mean time, he checked my car (1990 model) for fun. It can only search from 1997 when I bought the car. And it was saying the police record is clean, but my car has a big accident in 2001.
All I am trying to say is the info from VIN check is no use.
