In partnership with the Indonesian Embassy, the Ottawa Asian Heritage Month Society cordially invites you to the drama film “5 cm” (English subtitles) on Sunday, May 7 from 11:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Ben Franklin Chamber, 101 Centrepointe Drive, Nepean. Free Admission.
The film follows the story of five close friends who embark on a journey to climb the peak of Mount Semeru, which is located in East Java and stands at 3,676 meters above sea level. The film explores the themes of friendship, love, and personal growth as the characters face physical and emotional challenges during their journey. They encounter various obstacles such as difficult terrain, extreme weather conditions, and personal conflicts that test their perseverance, courage, and loyalty to each other. The film also highlights the natural beauty of Mount Semeru and the culture of the local people. Supported by top actors and actresses from Indonesia as well as great movie techniques, this film is a must-see for all ages.
