Winter Parking
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Winter is fast approaching and that means snow-clearing teams will be working to keep your city roads safe and clear.
The City's priority for snow clearing is to ensure that streets are clear for motorists, public transit, winter cyclists and pedestrians.
Overnight winter parking regulations are now in effect throughout the City. That means that you may park on City streets between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. except when a snowfall of 7 cm or more is forecast. Listen to local media for special advisories about on-street parking.
You can help by doing your part:
Be aware when a snowfall of 7 cm or more is forecast - you should move your vehicle off the street so that City crews can clear roads easily and efficiently. This does not apply if you have an on-street parking permit.
Be patient when you see our crews working for you.
Be informed that, if crews plan to remove snow on nights when no snowfall is forecast, they will post "no parking" signs ahead of time. Please do not park where you see these signs posted. Your vehicle could be ticketed and towed to a nearby street. This restriction applies to all vehicles, including those with on-street parking permits.
For more information call the SNOWLINE at 580-2460 or the City's Call Centre at 580-2400.
