"Shame on him": Israeli foreign minister calls out United Nations general secretary​

Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen called out US Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Tuesday, saying "shame on him" in an answer to a reporter's question at the United Nations stakeout.

Earlier, Cohen said he would not meet with Guterres due to the secretary-general's criticism of Israel's strikes on Gaza.

"I will not meet with the UN Secretary-General. After the October 7th massacre, there is no place for a balanced approach. Hamas must be erased off the face of the planet!,” Cohen wrote on social media Tuesday.

At the UN stakeout today, according to the reporter who asked Cohen the question, Guterres' office had said: "You can't solve the problem until you know the causes of the problem."

Cohen mentioned allegations of crimes committed by Hamas, adding that “there is no cause for this.”
